“I Portali” shopping centre, inaugurated in October 2007, can be easily reached from anywhere in Sicily, being situated in San Giovanni la Punta (CT), at a distance of less than 2 Kms from San Gregorio’s tollbooth (A18 motorway). I “Portali” is connected to the adjoining mall “Le Zagare” through an indoor pedestrian crossing, together forming the most innovative and wide-ranging shopping arcade in Catania’s hinterland. It spreads on a 140,000-sqm area, with both outdoor and indoor car parks -which can host circa 3 thousand vehicles-, and large gardens for the enjoyment of our visitors. “I Portali” comprises two wide structures:

• the east area, which houses the shopping centre, meets all requirements as for shopping, entertainment and relaxation. The eye-catching transparent blue cupola above Piazza Grande (Big Square) soon draws the visitors’ attention. Here the atmosphere recalls that of an elegant village, where everything is taken care of down to the last details: the two-storey building is surrounded by lush vegetation, palms and tropical plants, with pools and water games, and artistic staircases. The floors, enhanced by shiny marbles, match the sober and sophisticated design for an ambiance created on purpose for people’s delight.
